United Bank of India (UBI) is a government-owned banking and financial services company with its headquarters in Kolkata. Apart from its headquarter in Kolkata, the bank has 35 Regional offices and more than 2000 branches across India.
United Bank of India (UBI) has major presence is in the eastern part of India. It operates three full-fledged overseas branches at Kolkata, New Delhi and Mumbai. Slowly and gradually, United Bank of India is trying to expand its international activities.
UBI was formed as a result of the merger of four banks in 1950. These banks were: Comilla Banking Corporation (founded in 1914), Bengal Central Bank (founded in 1918), Comilla Union Bank (founded in 1922) and Hooghly Bank (founded in 1932).
